NSW Land and Housing Corporation partnered with Newbuild Development (Australia) to deliver a two-storey, 10-unit apartment building for seniors and people with a disability at 23-27 Merle Street, Bass Hill, comprising six two-bedroom and four one-bedroom units.
Located close to public transport, the development delivers a contemporary, high-quality design that complements the surrounding low- and medium-density residential environment. It features fully enclosed private open spaces for every apartment, street frontages that create a safer public domain, five accessible ground-level units adaptable for wheelchair users, extensive landscaping and ground-level car parking.
The project provides new, modern, fit-for-purpose social housing for up to 16 residents, and was delivered as one of around 50 projects under the NSW Government’s $400 million Fast-Track Housing Construction Package supporting economic recovery from COVID-19.
